Promoting the Mod Rod

Postby chrisPS on October 19th, 2009, 5:06 pm

Hi! I'm promoting the modrod here on this board. Some may not be aware of this. Also, this is in my own words, so I may not quite get it right. So here goes!!!

http://www.modrod.biz

The ModRod is a retractable spin pen made of Lexan (Polycarbonate or the ones used in bulletproof glass).

It is quite very simple in design, with 205.5mm length, 9.53mm in diameter, and 17.75grams in weight, but with the aesthetic appeal, the sky is the limit (not really :P). The pros of it is that of course, number 1, is the body itself. Made of polycarbonate, it is quite durable. Also, it is a retractable pen that writes at the "tip" side, so when one uses it in school, one will not quite get "suspicious" of the pen you are using to write (if you use it, that is :D ) Another is, of course, the one that makes it differ from almost all pen modifications out there. it is the pen itself. You can design with grips, like Dr. Grips, G2 Grips, or almost anything you can put into your modrod. It gives one's modrod a unique "personality". it's kinda like, It defines who you are inside.

The Present designs from the modrod website are fully modded pens that are hand painted, and carefully modded with select ring colors. One-of-a-kind original works, and the inspiration for their slogan, which is:

A work of art; built to spin.

One present con may be the location, as the pen is specially "factory-made", so you may not be able to get it in public, except through their website.

Please visit their website for more info.

dude... delete your other 3 topics man. =.=

And also, modrod is run by 2 people, Cris (who designed the lexan pen barrel and the mechanism) and Barret (who is the designer)
The modrod concept sounds very nice, except the only problem i think is that it's too heavy. a modrod by itself is as heavy as a Dr.KT, so if you add more grips.. it'll be some BusterCYL thing, lol. But whatever, it's just my two cents, no offense Buster spinners.

anyways, for your information, there is a contest going on called 'Mod The Rod' contest.

It's organized by modrod to seek new appealing designs from us because we didn't like thier original designs, so Cris decided to set up this contest to see what our preferences are and at the same time get profit. Pretty smart actually.

The grand prize is USD 150 (RM600+) and the winning model designed will be sold in thier website and the modder will get USD 1 royalties for each pen sold. Sounds nice huh? You can read the full terms and conditions on the modrod website, or on the thread here:
http://www.upsb.info/forum/index.php?showtopic=21522

All you got to do is to buy the modrod, mod it and post a picture on that topic!

However, the modrod contest pen has been sold out, but there are still normal modrods for sale on the site though. I guess you can buy those, take out the grips and mod it your way, but that'll mean wasting some big money XP

But anyways, I've already ordered the modrod Evo, and I already have very good plans on how I'm going to mod my modrod. =) I'm going to win this contest yo! And good luck to all who actually take part in this contest!
