Anyway, this is a good opportunity to discuss and have a common acception of "good spinner".
So, good spinner=good pen spinner.
Basically i agree with what loonwern had mentioned, that is

Yes i think a good spinner should has at least up to certain degree of eagerness to keep up with other spinners, that means to be a competent or competitive spinner.
IMO, just being able to spin awesome combos or super-advanced tricks or 100+ busts but with bad attitude and behavior towards pen spinning or other pen spinners or in the community, is not "good spinner". You're advanced, but not overall good.
Basic understanding of pen mods is required because it's part of pen spinning knowlegde, such as why are we adding metal tips to both ends of pen, why use grips and why backcapped normal pens are easier to spin. How the pen/mod works with our pen spinning is a must-know, a part of pen spinning. Advanced pen modifications such as modifying the mechanical pens and other more complicated modifications are bonuses for a good spinner.
Learning new tricks and ability to put tricks in combo, yes, and also about learning of all aspects, depth of view of pen spinning, ability to judge, conceptual skill(eg. creativity, new linkings, etc.), behaviour and attitude towards pen spinning and etc should be improving when the longer you're in the pen spinning world/community.
Developing the ability to judge in pen spinning, meaning that you are able to judge more objectively. When coming to the time to judge another spinner's video/combo, you're able to judge not too based on your own preference. Of course to be totally objective is impossible because even professionals judge others/things based on common acception or views and also some own study.
Ability to judge and to differentiate is where you start to learn and make improvement. Right attitude and good behaviours are the fundamentals of building your long-term pen spinning "career" and to balance the pen spinning and your real life and in the end, to become a good spinner. Too much into pen spinning(or any other hobbies) will mess up your real life, you will not be a good spinner in the end. (I will post more about this point in other post.)
So at the moment, this is what i think. If i found out something's missing i will edit this post later.
BTW, I'm writing this not because i'm discouraging anyone to become a good spinner. I've been writing a long post, i know that. "Good spinner", covers many aspects to become one, but it doesn't mean it is hard to become a good spinners.
